Why do you give a gift?

I think it's because we're trying to say something with our gifts. Sometimes it's "thank you", or "I appreciate you." Sometimes it's "I love you". And sometimes, it's just "you're special to me." But the point is that we want to show someone how much they mean to us in some way that can't be expressed any other way.
